Louis Vuitton Foulards D’Artistes III, Spring/Summer 2014

This Spring Louis Vuitton will continue their world tour of vibrant street art scenes by inviting three new artists from three different countries to collaborate on their collection of textile scarves. The chosen three this season are Parisian Andre Saraiva, American Kenny Scharf and INTI from Chile.

Alongside these three artistic collaborations, Louis Vuitton introduces two more variations of the iconic leopard print created for Louis Vuitton by the artist Stephen Sprouse. Andre Saraiva‘s studio drop cloth was the inspiration for the background of his interpretation of Louis Vuitton’s Monogram shawl. Kenny Scharf, the pop surrealist artist created a colorful collage of astronomic motifs and symbols of pop culture  on a blurred psychedelic background, reaching out beyond the elitist boundaries of fine art and popular culture, $835.00 at Louisvuitton.com

INTI, true to his name is, derived from the Inca sun God, was inspired ancestral Andean culture; which translates into brightly colored monumental works. The Sun’s warm shades of yellow, orange and red motif refers to the image of “Wiracocha,’ God of  Tiwanaku Culture, the most important Inca deities, $840.00 at Louisvuitton.com
