Last month Beverly Hills welcomed the classic restaurant, The Palm into their repertoire of places to power lunch. While THE WIFE™ is of course no stranger to The Palm, we are thrilled with the new location on Canon Drive, neighboring The Montage Hotel. After closing their doors in West Hollywood, Bruce Bozzi, Jr., great-grandson of The Palm’s founder and Executive Vice President goes on to talk about The Palm’s new roots, “This new restaurant will reflect the sophistication of Beverly Hills, but will also be what The Palm always is – warm, welcoming and inviting,”
Steeped in 88 years of tradition, booths are illuminated by retro feeling globe table tops with ambient golden hues to pay homage to The Palm’s 1920’s origins. In addition to its traditional menu, the classic steakhouse will offer several new items for the Beverly Hills menu (Crispy Kale Salad, Canon Drive & Bison Burgers, Atlantic Salmon with Quinoa Tabbouleh, Steakhouse Salad and Blackened Chicken Chop Chop Salad). A weekly special grass-fed, hormone-free “butcher’s cut”” as well as seasonal dishes inspired by local Farmer’s Markets will be a featured part of the menu.
The iconic landmark, known for treating their guest like family and serving generous “Palm-sized” prime steaks and lobsters, has created several unique dishes to excite the palates of both new patrons and loyal Palm fans. However Steaks weren’t a part of the original Palm menu. Whenever a customer would ask for steak during The Palm’s early years, John Ganzi would run to a nearby butcher shop on Second Avenue, buy a steak, and then cook it to order. Steaks eventually became a regular staple to accommodate guests’ frequent requests.
The Palm is perfect for afternoons when THE WIFE™ wants to meet her husband out for lunch. The two of you can dream up your next vacation while sipping on one of The Palm’s 15 hand crafted cocktails and take in the infamous caricature murals by Zach Bird. The Palm is not only a place to enjoy an excellent meal but also catch up with old friends, meet new ones, close business deals, and celebrate family milestones.
