BYREDO’s acclaimed ‘1996’ scent is being released this Valentine’s Day and reinvented as a provocatively red-waxed candle. This private edition scent was originally a collaboration between BYREDO’s Ben Gorham and renowned Fashion and Art Photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
The interpretation of the scent was inspired by a photograph of a young girl entitled ‘Kirsten 1996’ taken by Inez and Vinoodh. 1996 is a true collaboration in every sense as Ben sought to interpret not only the image itself but the personality and passion of its creators, and the beauty and warmth of their relationship and home.
