March 25th, 2013 — Jewelry, Love Gold
Towards the end of last century, fine jewelry was missing the whimsical element of fantasy. Then in 1998, The House of Dior along with newly appointed artistic director, Victoire de Castellane created a brand new fine jewelry department and fantasy was re born! Victoire de Castellane used her boundless imagination to re introduce precious and colored stones. Her designs told an enchanting story for each creation… Giant diamonds, rubies and emeralds seem to dance around the richness of mini jewels and hold court in glowing gold, defining new proportions of uninhibited fine jewelry.
Dior uses only the best materials available, diamonds, gemstones and crystals magically set into 18 karat gold varieties. As always everything conceived at Christian Dior is a tribute to excellence, bringing women back into the spotlight with alluring and priceless jewelry to last a lifetime. -Taryn Cox in collaboration with LoveGold

The cocktail ring is perhaps the biggest and boldest piece of jewelry a wife can wear, getting instant attention for their sparkling appeal. The over sized ring is always set with a large center stone, (mostly precious gems) and often surrounded by tiny stones and wraps around your finger with a glowing gold band. The dramatic ring came onto the scene in the 1930’s during prohibition. It ultimately gained popularity as women would wear them to draw attention to their hands while holding their banned cocktails. LoveGold held court this week at The Chateau Marmont during Oscar Week to celebrate Fred Leighton’s show stopping jewelry. Angeleno’s flocked to Selma House to preview Leighton’s iconic designs including Amy Adams’ and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s red carpet Oscar moments. My favorite piece however, was a one of a kind flower brooch owned by legendary Wife, Jackie O. Guests sipped on Kansas cocktails with real gold flakes in them while playing in The Digital Photo Booth. Here’s a sneak peek at a few party pics through out the evening. –Taryn Cox for THE WIFE in Collaboration with LoveGold

LoveGold and The Elton John Aids Foundation came together to celebrate the nominated film, “How to Survive a Plague.” Elton John, Sharon Stone and the film’s director, David France were in attendance to honor the film, which is in the Oscar race for best documentary. Guests were surrounded by a bevy of men’s gold jewelry from designers, Dave Thomas (Gentleman) and Robert Keith & Kether Parker (Hoorsenbuhs), who lended a few special pieces for the event. But the jewels weren’t the only highlight of the evening, the night ended with an impromptu performance by Madeline Fuhrman behind the piano. -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE in Collaboration with LoveGold
