THE HUSBAND: How To Tie a Bow Tie

No longer considered a thing of stuffy formality, the bow tie has come into its own as an accessory that works in all occasions. Championed by British TV actor Mr. Matt Smith in his role as the alien-battling Doctor Who, it’s an easy way to sharpen up a jacket and shirt. Put aside concerns it will droop south, loll to one side or end up twisted like a Danish pastry; although an accessory synonymous with the most august of thinkers – Mr Winston Churchill, Mr Karl Marx and Mr Sigmund Freud, to name a few – the art of tying a bow tie is surprisingly straightforward. THE WIFE: His and Her Cocktails

Hi there, I’m Natalie from Mint Love Social Club here to give you all a great his and hers cocktail pair for Fall!  It just so happens that Miss Taryn and I go way back as our mothers have been close friends for many years so I was delighted when she asked me to do a little cocktail guest blog!

Today I created a great pairing for a cozy Autumn night in using rosemary simple syrup to give it an herbal and seasonal flavor!  The cocktail for her features gin and grapefruit so its lighter and sweet while the cocktail for him is much stronger with only Rittenhouse Rye whiskey and some Peychaud bitters to accompany a dash of the simple syrup. I hope you enjoy them! THE HUSBAND: The Difference Between a Man and a Gentleman

A man tried to make his mark and a gentleman strives to leave a mark. A man accepts a favor and a gentleman returns the favor. A man gives orders and a gentleman inspires. A man fits the mold and a gentleman tires to break the mold. The differences are many, but it all comes down to this: a man takes the necessary amount of steps and a gentleman takes the extra step.  Congratulations to all the gentlemen who took the extra step.

Tips for THE WIFE: Hall Passes

My definition of a “Hall Pass” is giving your husband a night out with the boys. Written by Rasmus Michau, a newlywed who is often granted hall passes from his wife since he certainly knows a thing or two about night life and getting friends together for a good time!

Based in Paris, Rasmus, is a social maven known for the extraordinary parties he throws. The city has become a livelier place from the official FIAC art fair Ball to Paris Largest club Cirque Paradis, where some of the world’s best DJs come to play. He has also founded events agency Hmm! ww.sayhmm.com that mainly focuses on luxury goods brands and similar creative industries and launched SayWho? www.saywho.fr, that has become Paris’ main people magazine. And his latest project BonjourBonjour is a proximity social network for smartphones that allows people to get together by saying “Bonjour” to each other. BonjourBonjour tries to recreate the sense of a party, by allowing people to socialize in their area thanks to common affinities and friends. Below Rasmus gives wives a few good reasons why it’s important to give your husband hall passes. – Taryn Cox for THE WIFE

1. A man needs to see his friends and talk sports, politics and also relationships. As going for tea with his pals isn’t very manly, he needs to do this in an environment where his friends and him are comfortable. A bar or a pool hall is usually a good place for this.

2. Getting drunk is a very good therapy. To forget about all the hassles of daily life, nothing better than a boozy night out on the town. If your man was a party animal before settling down, he will need at least one a month…
