Veronica Taylor from Beauty and The Booty and THE WIFE’s resident beauty guru is back! This time she’s here to talk shop on how coconut oil can make a difference in your beauty and cooking routine. -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE
I had grown tired of spending too much money on too many different kinds of lotions that never worked, too many kinds of deep conditioners that never conditioned deep enough, and I never really liked cooking with unhealthy vegetable oil. I found the answer to all of my prayers in one little jar of organic coconut oil!
Bathing Beauty: Drizzle a little coconut oil into your bath and your skin will be thanking you from head to toe.
Apres le Bain: Scoop the oil out of the jar and rub it in all over just like a lotion. It really helps during the dry winter months and makes you smell like summer.
Shiny Happy Hair: I have tried every deep conditioner i could get my hands on. I have done everything from put eggs to olive oil to disgusting mayo in my hair. Nothing worked… Until I tried coconut oil. Twice a week I put the oil on my ends (never on the scalp or you will be washing your hair forever to get it out) and wrap my head with a warm towel that I keep on for 30 minutes. I wash it out with my regular shampoo and BAM! I have beautiful shiny hair that continues to grow and grow!

My eyes always widened with excitement when there is a cause to celebrate with a fare of exceptional caviar. It was recently on a field trip to Petrossian, when I realized there is a world of knowledge that comes along with caviar. But you don’t need to become a caviar connoisseur to to understand the basic knowledge of etiquette, many different varieties and special utensils required to serve with caviar. Below is a guide to everything a wife should know before ordering caviar at your next lunch or serving it at your next dinner party . -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE
Strictly speaking, the correct and proper definition of caviar is limited to eggs harvested from different species of sturgeon, traditionally Beluga, Osetra and Sevruga sturgeon from the Caspian Sea in Russia and Iran. However, the rising popularity of other types of fish roe in modern cuisine has caused the definition of “caviar” to broaden. Nowadays, basically any fish egg is referred to as caviar.
The tradition of preparing caviar has remained the same for thousands of years, and is one of the many reasons why caviar prices are so expensive. The harvesting, preparation and manufacture, of caviar is incredibly arduous, and follows strict traditional methods. Click “Continue Reading” to learn more.

Whether your monogramming something for yourself, your home or a wedding gift there are guidelines to follow. Monograms can add personal style to stationary, linens, jewelry and tailored shirts. Below is the correct etiquette when considering your next personalized project -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE
1. Monogram Style: Single-letter monograms are more casual and multiple letter monograms tend to be more formal. For married couples using the single monogram, choose the last initial for joint household items and the first initial for personal individual items.

It’s 3pm in the afternoon, your tummy is rumbling and all you can think about is how nice it would be to have a nap right now….. sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone. Most of us hit that mid afternoon wall and instinctively reach for a cup of tea, coffee, biscuits or chocolate bar to perk us up and give us the energy we need to get through the rest of the day. Zoe Copsey, our resident nutritionist, is back with solutions on keep your energy levels up and just in time for the holidays! -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE.
Although there are many reasons why your energy levels might be low, a good place to start is by balancing your blood sugar levels. The body is always trying to keep the amount of sugar circulating in our blood at any given time within a ‘normal’ range. Depending on the types of foods we eat this can fluctuate outside of this range. Carbohydrates are broken down into single glucose molecules in the body and are absorbed into the blood stream, which causes a hormone called insulin to be released. Insulin allows the sugar in the blood to enter the cells of the body to be used for energy, whilst any excess gets converted into fat and stored. The drop in insulin is what makes us hungry again and this is when our energy levels tend to be low. Here are a few top tips to help you beat that 3pm crash…..
