Yesterday Vampire Weekend released their 3rd album “Modern Vampires of the City.” This record certainly beats to the sound of a different drum. You won’t find their usual upbeat tracks on this album, except you will find nostalgia in their first single, “Diane Young” and “Finger Back.” Perhaps the boys of the band have decided to grow up and move their music in a more mature direction. So settle in for 43 minutes of melancholy sophistication.
Not my favorite album of theirs, but still worth purchasing. “Modern Vampires of the City” is perfect for quiet weekend mornings this Summer. $9.99 at iTunes, Favorite tracks include: “Step,” “Everlasting Arms,” “Ya Hey” and “Finger Back” -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE
