Do’s and Don’ts of Thank You Notes
*Do personalize your notes and make reference to the person as well as the gift.
*Do remember that a gift should be acknowledged with the same courtesy and generous spirit in which it was given.
*Do be enthusiastic, but don’t gush. Avoid saying a gift is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen unless you really mean it.
*Don’t send form letters or cards with printed messages and just your signature; don’t use email or post a generic thank you in lieu of a personal note.
– I try not to send the same card to the same person more then once. This of course does not pretane to personalized stationary or Plain Cards.
*Do promptly acknowledge the receipt of shipped gifts by sending a note right away or calling and following up with a written note in a day or two.
*Don’t mention that you plan to return a gift or that you are dissatisfied in any way.
*Do refer to the way you will use a gift of money. Mentioning the amount is optional.
*Don’t include photos if it will delay sending the note.
*Don’t use being late as an excuse not to write.
– My rule of Thumb is to always send the note within the same week. Even if you are still sending notes months after the Occasion keep writing! It’s always better late then never.

My Favorite Antique Typewriter I received for Christmas last year. After seeing my friend Mikey’s collection of typewriters, I instantly wanted one of my own. And Lucky me, I got 2 for Christmas: an Antique Erica Typewriter from Paris and a 1950’s Remington Typewriter. This week I picked up the Remington from being restored and ever since I’ve been a typing fool…. Thank you notes to Correspondence Letters! Although I have to say… It is a very complicated process to learn to type on a typewriter, Its basically like using a very very old and complicated computer key board. Let me tell you… Lots of impatient meltdowns after fudged up letters…. But after a While I got the hang of it.
My Writing Desk…
Left to Right : 1. On Top of my White Desk sits an old vintage map of Paris, to remind me of one of my Favorite Cities! 2. My Antique Erica Typewriter. 3. A framed photo of the classic Blue Tiffany and Co. Engagement Box, I love thinking that with the ask one question your life changes and your on your way to becoming a WIFE! 4. A stationary box containing custom pale pink stationary from Smthyson.
A Pink Scented Candle. 5. White Cup that holds my favorite Calligraphy pens for Writing and Addressing Letters. 6. A White Candlestick Desk Lamp and Antique Tape Dispenser.
Inside the desk holds cards for all occasions ranging from Birthdays to Weddings to Sympathy. I have An assortment of stamps ranging in many colors so they of course match each envelope mailed. Also my favorite finishing touch… Wax Seals… My desk houses every color of wax and my classic “T” Seal for Taryn.
