Dior Launched its 14th addition to their exclusive La Collection Privee. Cuir Cannage is a sophisticated fragrance for THE WIFE™ featuring top notes of leather delicately mixed with notes of signature Dior florals: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Rose and Iris.
This new fragrance is richly rooted in the history of Dior, as cannage has been inspiring the Couture House since 1947. Dior’s decorator, Victor Grandpierre would place gold concert chairs with square Napoleon III-style seats created in pale canework, or “cannage” in large salons for the haute couture shows. Reserved for VIP’s and celebrity clientale, these chairs became known as a symbol of the house. “Placed one behind another or side by side, they rub golden shoulders and wait,” said Dior. In 1995, the House debuted a new Dior handbag inspired by Grandpierre’s chairs, the bag featured the iconic design with leather top-stitching with the cannage pattern.
