The British WIFE who spends the majority of her time shopping on Moda Operandi can finally rejoice, the company recently welcomed an “invitation only” shopping boutique in London. The second brick and mortar space (New York being the first) sits comfortably on a cobbled stoned mews conveniently located behind the Lanesborough Hotel in Belgravia.
In addition to couture and ready to wear, the space will also host clients, designer trunk shows, bespoke events and feature a highly curated selection of fine, vintage and estate jewellery. “Our arrival in London was inspired by our clients and the overwhelming talent of London designers. The European customer understands fashion in a unique way, they are sophisticated, fashion-forward shoppers and London itself is an integral part of our business, as so many of our top clients have a residence here. ” says Lauren Santo Domingo.
Co-founder and WIFE, Lauren Santo Domingo worked closely with London-based interior designer, Fran Hickman on the space. Hickman commissioned bespoke joinery pieces from oak, fashioned with muted herringbone linen, inspired by ocean liner trunks; that will showcase a curation of vintage Hermes handbags.
Lucky customers will also enjoy artwork from the Michael Hoppen Gallery by legendary photographer Guy Bourdin, while getting access to runway pieces from New York, London, Milan and Paris. -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE™
